The Kettle Creek Watershed is managed by an active local group called the Kettle Creek Watershed Association (KCWA). The Kettle Creek Watershed is also the third watershed to become a part of Trout Unlimited's (TU) Home Rivers Program. Kettle Creek Watershed covers approximately 244 square miles, with the stream itself 42.5 miles in length. The stream begins in Tioga County and travels through Potter County and ending in Clinton County where it empties into the West Branch of the Susquehanna. However, the last six miles of Kettle Creek along with the tributaries in this section are polluted with AMD.
KCWA and TU have several projects in the works as a result of an assessment
that was performed by Hedin Environmental and completed in December 2000. The first
of these projects is a surface reclamation project on Twomile Run, a Water Collection
System on Robbins Hollow and Huling Branch and a passive treatment system on the Middle
Branch. If you would like more information on the Kettle Creek Watershed Association
